I once arranged to have pizzas delivered to a moving streetcar. I'm also a devourer of information, investigator of mysteries, and archivist of (figurative) receipts — things I put to service for Canadaland (and previously, for NOW Magazine). I write and talk about politics, media, culture, power, elected leaders with the surname "Ford," and the various intersections between those things. I am quite literally cited in the Merriam-Webster entries for "ethic" and "moral."After a decade of meddling in the Toronto municipal scene — first as a public-space activist and then as a journalist — I turned my attention to the country overall, in an effort to sharpen Canadians' understanding of how this place they live in operates in practice. Before NOW, I covered urban issues for Torontoist, Eye Weekly, Spacing, OpenFile, The Grid, and even the National Post, for which I spent five years as a columnist.Remarkably, I appear on Wikipedia's list of "Canadian performance artists," though I personally don't believe that having done just one performance project necessarily qualifies a person as a "performance artist."
Listed skills include Journalism, Editorial, Press Releases, Social Media, and 10 others.
