I was chief counsel for the $1.6 billion Neuromodulation division. I managed a business unit legal department of 24 employees including 12 attorneys, 6 paralegals and support staff. I served as a member of the business unit's senior leadership team, and was principal counsel to the division president and the other Vice Presidents on the leadership team. I handled or managed the handling of the full range of legal issues for the division, including FDA regulatory, quality and safety, compliance, competitive issues, contracts, business development transactions, employee issues and intellectual property matters.

I was counsel to the Gastro/Uro business in the Neuromodulation Division. I advised business leadership on all legal issues including FDA regulatory, quality, clinical, contracting and compliance, and was a member of the senior management staff of the business. I was also counsel to the Neuromodulation sector-wide Operations/Supply Chain group.

I was an attorney in the corporate litigation group, managing the work of outside counsel for the company. Initially the litigation was in the area of products liability, employment discrimination, non-competes, competitor disputes and general business litigation. From approximately 2001 to 2004, I managed primarily patent and patent licensing litigation.

I was a member of Trade Regulation and Intellectual Property departments working in the Minneapolis office. I handled primarily litigation in the areas of antitrust, trade regulation, franchise and distributor matters and employment disputes as well as general business litigation.
