Paradigm Surgical is a MedTech start-up aimed at addressing the widespread hernia problem in the US and across the globe by creating disruptive and enabling surgical technologies. Paradigm Surgical devices fixate prophylactic mesh significantly faster and more effectively than current techniques, offering novel, highly-efficient, and user-friendly solutions to the hernia epidemic.Responsibilities/Accomplishments:• Led the designing, prototyping, and testing initiatives for three hernia mesh fixation devices (SafeClose System™, Dispenser System™, and Dual Tacker Device™) that automate and standardize the mesh fixation procedure, making the procedure up to 20 times faster and 25% more effective than the current standard-of-care• Spearheaded R&D initiative as company’s first employee to take it from concept to an established start-up, yielding five issued patents, three published manuscripts, several functional prototypes, and a successful in-vivo animal trial• Designed studies for four federal grant proposals that garnered over $2.25M in Phase I and Phase II funding from the NSF and NIH. Wrote the proposals and managed these grant projects to timely completion• Built and managed company’s Quality Management System, including all Design Controls, utilizing the Greenlight Guru eQMS software in preparation for FDA 510(k) submission

• Collaborated with Dr. John Fischer (Director of Clinical Research at Penn) to conceptualize solutions to various clinical issues, design those solutions, prototype them, and test them• Designed protocols and manufactured various test rigs to conduct biomechanical proof-of-concept studies• Collaborated with and learned from engineering mentor, Richard Briganti, President and Founder of Briganti Product Development Group, LLC• Used PTC Creo Parametric CAD Software for all design work• Created drawings and technical descriptions for IP disclosures

• Facilitate the entire onboarding process for new mentors including filtering through 50+ applications, setting up/conducting interviews, and placing mentors at a fitting partner school• Manage all internal documents for the organization that is comprised of over 150 mentors• Create more efficient practices and methods that make the management of both the onboarding process and the day-to-day CSSP activities run smoothly

• Assisted Senior Sales Management in building up their mobile pipeline, particularly in the mobile phone application realm• Developed a list of application developers that presented the largest possible increase in Rubicon's mobile impressions output • Conducted detailed research on these leading developers and presented my findings to the Mobile Sales team• My findings represented a possible increase of over 3 billion impressions per month for Rubicon's Mobile marketplace

• Manage the cash register and restock the store after every shift• Assist in planning store discounts and other initiatives that would increase revenue

• Assist the President and Principal of the school with miscellaneous tasks• Collect and organize thousands of textbooks• Change the locker combinations and clean out over 1000 lockers in the building

• Help watch over and entertain over 60 children from ages 7 to 13 during summer camp
