IMI Norgren Limited is primarily concerned with the design and development of pneumatic valves and fittings. My main duties within the 7 Engineer electronics team included;- Design and development of electronic variants of products, from the conceptual stage, through to manufacture.- Design of several ground breaking products in conjunction with other Electronic and Mechanical design departments in the UK and with sister companies in Switzerland and Germany. Taking on the role as Electronics Project Leader for these projects often required me to travel to Switzerland and Germany on a regular basis for progress meetings, design reviews and testing. - Design of Digital, Analogue and Power Supply circuitry for manufacture and to meet EMC/Protocol compliance. - Design and layout of PCBs for manufacture and to meet EMC/Protocol compliance, using Protel99 and Altium DXP. - Design of Embedded software in both C and Assembly. - Pre-compliance in-house EMC and Protocol testing and regular travel to official EMC and Protocol compliance test houses situated in the UK and Germany.- Communication and meeting with customers to ascertain their requirements for new products, including but not limited to silicon wafer manufacturing environments, robotic arm applications and fire fighting vehicles.- Prototype manufacture and problem solving with new or existing products.- Support for the onsite electronics manufacturing facility.
