CurrentI joined Simpkins Edwards in 2001 having just graduated from the University of Southampton with a degree in accounting and finance. I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2004 and as a Chartered Tax Advisor in 2005, becoming one of a small proportion of accountants to hold both the ACA and CTA qualifications.Working as client relationship manager within the firm’s Corporate and Specialist Advisory Group until my appointment as partner in April 2012, I have been able to apply that education to a broad range of work types and a varied portfolio of clients. I deal with the delivery of all aspects of accounts, tax and audit compliance services to a client base comprised primarily of limited companies and their owner managers, bringing to that work a proactive, advisory approach based on technical knowledge and extensive involvement in non-compliance services such as corporate finance – specialising in due diligence investigations and forecasting assignments – and tax advisory work. As one of the firm’s audit managers I have spent a great deal of time working at the premises of our corporate clients in industries including manufacture, construction, retail, financial services, education and agriculture. That time has given me a tremendous insight into the day to day running of small and medium sized businesses and the practical issues faced by their owner / managers.
