Please do not connect to sell me something. Like most analysts, I have always had a profound sense of curiosity. This sense of curiosity led me to question everything. I can vividly remember being seven years old and incessantly questioning my mother about a number of things. At the time, she was more than capable of handling anything my underdeveloped mind could throw at her.Eventually, my questions progressed beyond that which she could answer, and I was forced to begin answering my own questions. Each new question was more complex than the last, and I soon found myself at a point where I was unable to answer my questions. Not for lack of trying, but because I did not have the skills or information needed to answer the questions I had posed myself. It was around this time that I began college and was introduced to the world of big data. "Wow! There is more information here than I know what to do with," I thought to myself as I learned about databases and how to extract the information contained within. I had solved one half of the equation and now had the skill set needed to access the information that would allow me to answer more complex questions. Still, now I needed to develop the skills that would allow me to turn that data into meaningful insights. The world of analytics was the other half of the equation, and once I discovered it - I was hooked. I began learning everything I could about analyzing data and answering complex questions. I learned about quantitative and qualitative analysis, statistical analysis, BI tools, and visualization software. Armed with these skills, I was prepared to answer any question thrown at me.Now, as an analyst in the world of big data, this desire to answer questions remains. Thankfully for me, many questions have yet to be answered.
