I performed these duties by traveling around the battle space inspecting combat facilities. These facility’s inspections include perimeter security, entrance control point operations, and mitigating force protection equipment. • Serves as the Afghan National Police (ANP) coordinator for the brigade coordinating with coalition forces and host nation police forces for the training and mentorship of the ANP. In this position, I represent the brigade combat team commander and coordinate with both Coalition and Afghan police forces for the training and mentorship of the Afghan National Police. • Manages the Small Rewards Program (SRP) that appropriates over $200,000 in SRP funds. I managed sixteen pay agents in this program designed to reward Afghan citizens for information leading to the capture of weapons, explosives, and high value individuals.• Provided management of working dog program and supervising the implementation of 17 contracted working dog teams in a theatre of operations. I published a paper in the Center for Army Lessons Learned (CALL) on this Army pilot program. While serving in this position, I manage the training, logistics support, and combat operations for the canine teams in the brigade.• Two combat tours to Afghanistan.
Platoon Leader
• Led, trained, and cared for a 49 Soldier platoon 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in preparation for a combat zone deployment. Care consisted of medical, financial, and family considerations. Planned and executed individual and collective training in order to build a cohesive and effective combat ready team. • Ensured that my 4 squads of 12 men and women were trained and qualified for overseas deployment in support of the global war on terrorism as special reaction teams. The special reaction teams are trained to execute high value missions consisting of barricaded suspects/high value individuals, hostage situations, and very important persons protective services. • Responsible for the maintenance, serviceability, and accountability of over $3 million in platoon equipment. This equipment included fourteen military vehicles and fifty-six crew served and machine gun weapons systems.• Also served as Company Executive Officer managing ten million dollars worth of equipment throughout the company, Physical Security/Arms Room Officer managing the security of five hundred weapon systems in the company, Company Safety Officer implementing operating procedures and reporting safety statistics and violations, and Voting Assistance Officer. • Rated as the best of seven platoon leaders in the battalion. Superior performance earmarked me for possible company command ahead of peers. Evaluation report available.
