This project concluded with a published Panel report entitled, Strengthening America’s Best Idea: An Independent Review of the Natural Resource Stewardship and Science Directorate (June 2010), that validated the critical importance of NRSS; presented a high-level strategic agenda to guide future NPS and NRSS natural resource activities; and included practical recommendations for addressing key internal organizational issues.• Directed the Academy’s review of Grant Thornton’s assessment of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resource Conservation Service agency. This project concluded with an internal report submitted to Grant Thornton summarizing the results of the review and presenting advice to senior NRCS officials on how to develop/implement a more effective performance measurement system.
