I am the principal investigator for the IoT and Field Engineering Laboratory at the Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research Center where I develop innovative telemetry and IoT solutions for scientists working in and around the Grand Canyon. I work for the Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research Center designing and implementing IoT based data systems in the Grand Canyon and surrounding area.

I worked on a variety of paleoclimate projects from the northern Rockies to Alaska. My focus was on understanding hydroclimate variability throughout the Holocene at headwater or proglacial lakes through geochemical and stable isotope analysis of lake sediments.

I describe, sample, process and analyze lacustrine sediment core material from Morrison Lake, MT. Work conducted includes lab prep of sediment for C and N stable isotopic analysis of bulk organic material and for H and O stable isotopic analysis of authigenic carbonate. Goals of this research are to build a model of climactic and hydrologic variability in the northern Rocky Mountains over the last 12,000 years to add to the current body of literature. I prepared, lectured and graded for two lab sections of GEOL1100, The Dynamic Earth, an introductory geology and physical science class (Fall 2017 and Spring 2018).I graded exams and homework materials for the lecture section of GEOL1100, The Dynamic Earth (Spring 2018) and a graduate level statistics course (Spatial Analysis).

Assisting in an ongoing research project related to soil carbonate formation by collecting time sensitive soil gas and soil water field samples, weighing and processing the samples in a mass spectrometer. Collected stable oxygen and carbon isotopic values.

Graded student labs and acted as an assistant to the primary instructor during lab sections.

My primary duties were to work as a Fee Official. This involved acting as a mediator between volunteer campground hosts and the National Park Service. Daily issues involving camping fees, reservations and problems in the park were my primary duty. In addition, weekly it was my responsibility to work alongside a coworker and collect self pay fee envelopes, counting and recording thousands of dollars of park income each week. This check is required to hand large volumes of money for the government. I independently developed a park newsletter for all of the camp hosts which includes informative articles about the park and current events. I work for dual programs at WSCU, both the Environmental Studies program as a teaching assistant for introductory environmental studies classes, as well as a tech assistant and webpage developer for the Master of Environmental Management Program.
