Technical Advisor - Global Health Security Partner Engagement Project

Served as emerging high priority zoonotic pathogens surveillance and response subject matter advisor, interpreting CDC, WHO and national guidelines and policies to ensure evidence-based practices. Coordinated between local, district and regional health center for laboratory infectious disease outbreak surveillance, rapid response testing and transportation needs for sample confirmation. Organized meetings with local and national government administration, medical staff, and UNHCR/refugee settlement officials to gain local context for strategic design, field-based assessment.Planned and coordinated capacity building training initiatives for veterinary, medical and wildlife teams on engaging WHO's Joint External Evaluation (JEE) and OIE's Performance of Veterinary Services (PVS) achievements on disease detection, surveillance, and rapid response. Communicated programmatic strategy design and implementation, goal-oriented frameworks with CDC, partner NGO and Ministries of Health and Agriculture leadership for guidance and feed-back.Key Achievements:● Initiated new Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to enhance project IT capacity, case reporting and project administration; Developed comprehensive guide to support staff on office operation.● Principle Partners – Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), World Health Organization (WHO), Uganda National Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Water & Environment (MWE), Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry & Fisheries (MAAIF), and Wildlife Authority (UWA) and Adjumani, Arua, Kuboko, Moyo, and Yumbe District local government officials.
