Collaborated with staff to establish & maintain a fun, inclusive & safe environment for dozens of families & over 350 campers per week.From July 1st to August 8th in 2021, I worked as a lifeguard for Olympia Family Camp, maintaining a friendly waterfront environment, advocating for safety of patrons by enforcing aquatic policies and maintaining a positive attitude. While in this position I also lead kayak tours, facilitated games for kids, and operated personal watercrafts.Following the transition to Sports Camp from August 8th to August 29th in 2021, I worked as a camp counselor where I established a safe cabin environment for three to five campers and fostered leadership and growth through organized activities and pick-up sports during free times. I was also assigned to assist in the development of youth's athletic abilities through coaching, leading warm-up & cooldown exercises in the designated sport. The following year, in 2022, I spent a total of 4 months at Olympia serving two jobs. One as an outdoor educator where I served to teach young people about the importance of soft skills such as trust, collaboration, initiative, & communication through games that challenged them regular school could not. I also became fully certified to teach every activity offered by Olympia, including the ropes courses and waterfront. Other activities that I am trained to teach include orienteering, blanket toss, bouldering, low ropes, archery, hiking among many others.The second job I served in 2022 was as a camp counsellor. Again, I was responsible for the safety of children and fostered a cabin environment of inclusion, safety and leadership. The children ranged from 7-years old to 14-years old & I learned how to adapt to each group's needs. At the same time, I served to assist in the development of youth's athletic abilities through coaching, leading warm-up & cooldown exercises in the designated sport.
