Jun 2015 - Dec 2015

Rock Yard Driver

Star Nursery

5380 Blue Diamond Road, Las Vegas, Nv 89139

My responsibilities were to locate delivery sites, call the customer to confirm delivery and type and quantity of products being delivered and get drop instructions. At the beginning of each shift a truck inspection was conducted, and if there were any problems, they were reported in the logs to alert and recognize safety hazards. Covering the truckload before leaving the yard was a safety precaution that if not done could have resulted in a traffic violation. I occasionally advised customers on tree planting and information on various plant-life accessories. Additional responsibilities were to order materials and process purchase orders to receive rock material from the quarries. Performance of data entry was also done by maintaining inventory loss (shrink), and by recording the mileage daily. After all of the duties were completed, there was always more work to do. The additional duties entailed using the forklift to stock flagstone, a backhoe to load customers and organize the boulder pit, and the front-end loader to load vehicles on the scale and to scrape the yard. I operated the bobcat with a sweeper attachment to sweep the rocks in the yard, as well as, the bucket attachment to load small pickup truck beds. I also used some hand tools to fix sprinklers and irrigation lines to ensure that they worked to keep dust levels down in the yard. Additional projects would include organizing pallets of soils and boulders, and would require the use of hand tools, power tools, and occasionally a forklift. During the winter from mid November to the end of December I would help process, stock, cut, and deliver Christmas Trees around regular duties. This required the use of hand tools and a chainsaw.

Dec 2014 - Mar 2015

Armed Security Guard

3753 Howard Hughes, Las Vegas, Nv 89169

As an armed security officer for this company, there were many different sites. I had one main site during the winter months and two different sites that I would travel between in during the spring and summer months. For the winter months, I was stationed on the business complex lot with the Can Can Room strip club off of Industrial Road. I patrolled the facility from 4 pm to 4 am recording any and all events in a written log that I then sent via email at the end of the shift. During the time I was stationed there, I recorded license plates and the driver description of all suspicious vehicles that would pull up to the convenient store (which is no longer in business), go inside, and come back out with nothing in hand in under 30 seconds. Due to my reports, these activities were then investigated and stopped by law enforcement. During the summer months, I was assigned to two different sites. There, my duties were to patrol the facility until the closing workers were ready to be escorted to their vehicles.

Feb 2013 - Dec 2013

Pool Security Officer

4455 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, Nv 89169

For this facility, my experience was not just a pool security position, but also included assignments inside The Joint, nightclub venues, and other areas throughout the hotel and casino. This was an unarmed position with the main objective being costumer service. During pool security assignments, I was a roaming officer floating from each station post within one of the four pools. I would break other officers for meals and breaks, and patrol the poolside to ensure the safety of guests and prevent any potential form of theft. Illegal drugs were confiscated and if there was a considerate amount or if anyone was intending to sell, the police were then involved. I only ever had to trespass one individual for selling on the property. This process also involved a report that needed to be filled out. At the guard points, I would also assist in bag searches, pat-downs, and other potential security breaches. For the visitors that were unconscious or intoxicated, I would take them in a wheelchair to the medic post with their belongings in order to be medically treated by an EMT and removed from the pool for the rest of the day. As a “roamer”, when a fight would break out, it was our responsibility to respond to the scene and dismantle the conflict in a safe manner, while the stationed officers stayed put to prevent any possible security breaches. I had the same responsibilities when assigned to evening poolside concerts. When assigned at The Joint or nightclub, I had both roaming and standing guard assignments that accommodated the same responsibilities. During both opening and closing shifts, I assisted with the caravan transporting money and poker chips to and from the cage/vault.

Mar 2013 - Oct 2013

Green Delivery Driver

Star Nursery

8725 South Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123

My responsibilities were to map the delivery sites and to confirm the deliveries, as well as, delivery of products, such as plants, trees, and planting materials using 25 foot long to 34 foot long trucks. I provided customers with occasional advising of tree planting and information on various plant-life accessories. The trucks were inspections daily, and if there were any problems, they reported through the logs to alert and recognize hazards. After deliveries were complete plants and materials were transferred from store to store, as well as, to and from the warehouse. After the main tasks of delivering were completed for the day, there would be a side project to finish that would vary from organizing rows of pallets loaded with soils, to stacking and organizing pallets, or even putting plants back in stock and helping customers find plants. Additional projects required hand tools, power tools, and irrigation tools. In spring of 2012, I was moved out to rock yard and was the assistant to the Rock Yard manager at the time Kyle Mickelson (who is now a store manager). I was responsible for organizing deliveries as they were to be sent out, taking orders, using the register, faxing documents, stocking the trailer, and ordering truckloads of rocks to stock the yard. Performance of data entry was done by maintaining inventory loss data (shrink), and by recording the mileage daily. Additional duties were to process purchase orders to receive rock from the quarries. During this time I operated the front-end loader, the backhoes, and the smaller bobcat loader with the sweeper, bucket, and clamp attachments. In the winter of 2012, I was moved back over to Green Delivery Driver and would occasionally go and drive for the Rock Yard when needed. During the winter from mid November to the end of December I would help process Christmas Trees around regular duties. This required the use of hand tools and a chainsaw.

Feb 2011 - Jan 2013

Cashier

Hoover Dam Visitor Center, Boulder City, Nevada 89005

My responsibilities were to help the customers by cashing them out and answering any questions they might have accumulated during their tour of the Dam. I also had the duty of promoting souvenirs and pictures that were sold only at the stand. During the waves of tours, I would edit images so make some clothing not disappear being we were using a green screen behind people to capture their picture and place them in front of a background of the Hoover Dam. If there were no computer station available to edit, then I was bagging folded picture holders to speed the process of checking people out at the register. I also got the experience of changing out rolled ink for the printers. At the end of each shift, I would count the drawer and organize the display case.

Aug 2010 - Jan 2011

Carry Out And Cashier

Las Vegas, Nevada Area

The main responsibility was to help the customers, stock inventory, and operate the cash register as well as the forklift. I also trained in selling products and informing the customers about chemicals and fertilizers and how to plant and provided helpful tips with landscaping needs. I put back plants and landscape materials back into stock and taped up any damaged bags while combining same bags to make whole bags. I organized pallets of rock and soils and cleaned debris out from under and around the pallets. I have changed labels and replaced products signs and sky numbers. I gained experience with entering in ordered products from vendors and checking in inventory from the warehouse. I was given a lot of various projects to work on that would require organizing and cleaning large areas. During closing procedures, I would restock the shelves, clean the restrooms, put pallets of soils away from the front into the holding area, sweep the front of the store, clean up the holding area, and step inside the store.
