CurrentGovernor
CurrentMy role involves ensuring the school's clear vision and direction, supporting the headteacher in improving school performance, and ensuring responsible use of school finances. This role requires a deep commitment to providing the best education for pupils, involvement in various school matters such as recruitment, finance, and curriculum, and fostering strong connections between the school and the local community. I participate in governance board meetings on a termly basis, engage in school visits to gain a comprehensive understanding of its operational and financial management, and contribute to the school's long-term development and improvement.
Deputy Head
CurrentAs a senior member of the leadership team at Embley, a prestigious independent day and boarding school in rural Hampshire, I am responsible for academic achievement and the daily operations of the school. Our most recent ISI inspection in November 2022 rated Embley as excellent in all areas.I provide a strong focus on maintaining the highest standards and have implemented an evidence-informed teaching and learning strategy based on cognitive psychology to help our teachers deliver excellent lessons and equip our students with metacognitive strategies to self-regulate and succeed in their learning. I have also led the development of a unique tracking system that allows us to easily monitor each student's progress in all subjects compared to baseline data.During my time at Embley, I have implemented a custom digital strategy that has provided every student with a tablet and access to our Digital Learning Spaces, which has helped our community become proficient and confident users of technology. As a result, Embley has been shortlisted for awards and has been recognised as an Apple Distinguished School.I also established an annual education conference that brings in high-caliber speakers and contributes to the professional development of our staff.Under my deputy headship, pupil enrollment at Embley has increased by 47% and external examination and value-added results have improved consistently year after year.

Assistant Principal
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Surbiton High School, I played a key role in devising and implementing the school's digital strategy. My responsibilities included working with the school governors, creating whole-school policies, conducting regular learning walks, managing academic departments, overseeing the Network Manager and IT Support team, and chairing the Digital Strategy Steering Group and Digital Champions staff community. In addition to my leadership duties, I taught Spanish to A Level and German to KS3, with a record of producing exceptional academic results. I also provided coaching to Oxbridge candidates.I developed the school's online Digital Learning Spaces from the ground up, which enable students to continue their learning outside the classroom and allow teachers to make their subject knowledge and relevant content accessible to students anytime, anywhere. The role of our digital resources was recognised by inspectors as a highly positive contributor to teaching and learning at Surbiton High School during our most recent ISI inspection, in which the school received an excellent rating in all areas (academic progress was deemed exceptional)."

Head Of Modern Foreign Languages
I was initially employed as a teacher of Spanish and German at NHS, a highly reputed independent school. Within two years of my employment, I was promoted to Head of Modern Foreign Languages and Head of Spanish following the retirement of the previous post holder. As Head of the largest academic department at NHS, which included nine teachers (many of whom held additional positions such as Head of Year, House, or Department), three language assistants, and a language resources assistant, I oversaw the consistent improvement in our students' results in MFL and the increasing number of students who chose to study languages at university. As part of my role, I oversaw the reorganisation of language provision at the Junior School to include French and Spanish from Reception, introduced the IGCSE, and hosted and attended annual modern foreign language meetings with the Warwick Group of schools. I also planned and led numerous residential school trips both nationally and internationally. When I left my position, NHS was on track to have the highest number of linguists in its 500-year history. In addition to my teaching and departmental responsibilities, I served as an assistant tutor in the NHS vertical tutoring system, supervised UCAS applications, wrote and proofread reports, and provided coaching to Oxbridge candidates.
Head Of Spanish
I was employed at GHS, an independent school for girls, as a Newly Qualified Teacher of Spanish and German. I was then promoted to acting Head of Spanish in June 2006. At GHS I taught mainly Spanish from Year 7 through to the Sixth Form and German from Year 6 to Year 9. As Head of Spanish, I was in charge of the increasingly popular and successful Spanish department, which consisted of four specialist language teachers and a language assistant.
