Since completing my internship with SPUR, I have continued to work with the organization as a writer and researcher. Projects that I have worked on have included a report on best practices for foundations, local government, and arts organizations to encourage Arts and Culture Districts, a series of case studies on river walks and linear parks, and a detailed analysis of development patterns in Downtown San Jose.

As Policy Intern, I led major projects focused on development policy in San Jose. I conducted a study tracking all proposed, approved, and under construction developments in Downtown San Jose, and presented my findings both in a map and written report. I also produced an analysis of San Jose's Urban Villages, comparing them with other cities' specific plans and offering recommendations on implementation and financing. In addition, I wrote blog posts on urban planning topics ranging from mall retrofitting to bicycle lanes.

As Politics and Policy Research Analyst, I aided Represent.Us by compiling data on the political and legal landscape in over a dozen states in preparation for promoting 2018 ballot measures addressing redistricting and campaign finance reform. In this task, I researched constitutional and statutory law, the partisan composition of state legislatures, and the electoral and legal history of previous reform efforts.

In my capacity as Analysis Fellow, I transformed the raw material of public opinion and media coverage into usable data for our collaborative groups working to fight the influence of money in politics, protect civil liberties, and advocate for peace.Specific projects include:-Identified and described the major narratives present across 3 years of media coverage of judicial elections.- Created, ran, and analyzed message testing polls on US military spending, with specific messages aimed at Democrats and Republicans-Analyzed American public opinion on Islam, Muslims and terrorism from November 2015 to January 2016, with messaging recommendations for civil liberties and Muslim advocacy groups-Synthesized two years of public opinion on the NSA, surveillance, and whistleblowing.-Continuously updated our website with concise summaries of breaking news polls on nuclear non-proliferation and money in politics.
