Hello!My name is Joy- I am a designer with a BFA from SCAD in Illustration, and a minor in Advertising. With an interest in video games, cosplay, and fantasy art, the media I enjoy often influences my work. I enjoy playing with color palettes and am always looking to try new things and challenge myself.I love getting to apply my personality, skills, and experiences to each project I'm involved in- and as cliche as it sounds, I truly find myself to be most fulfilled being a part of something bigger than myself. For the past year I’ve been working on my creative passion project ‘BBGirls’|-Artist Statement-Sugar, spice, and everything in between- ‘BBGirls’ is a celebration of feminine expression, exploring alternative subcultures of modern fashion.-Compositionally inspired by Paper Dolls, these pieces are created through the modern lens of generative art. Feeding hand illustrated traits including: eyes, mouths, hair, and attire to a generative engine, the program generates unique combinations of inputted attributes.-The collection brings diverse representations of aesthetics as well as tongue n’ cheek commentary on the systematic suppression of the feminine, and the countercultures birthed in response.
