Providence Health Care – Architect and Technical Advisor for the creation of the Healthcare Data Platform (HDP). The HDP is an Azure-based Big Data Platform supporting a wide range of healthcare information workloads including operational reporting, predictive analytics, machine learning and data science. The architecture enables ingestion from structured data sources (i.e. Epic EMR) as well as imaging, genomics, semi-structured web data, and devices. Providence’s HDP uses a unique “zone concept” to create adaptable compute/store areas enabling both IS professionals and allied analytics groups to collaborate with shared access to data and common tools. HDP leverages Azure Data Lake (Gen 2), Attunity, Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau, Informatica, and Azure Machine Learning Services.

Provided architecture and design guidance on creation of Microsoft's modern Customer Master system, leveraging Big Data technologies and Cloud Implementation.

Recruited and built a team of software engineers to create and manage hosted services as part of the ASG Shared Data Platform (SDP). The SDP is used for processing, storage, and analytics of “big data” applications across ASG. Led two software engineering project teams to address the data needs of Microsoft Finance and Marketing, leveraging the ASG Shared Data Platform.

Thought leader for Microsoft’s Data Warehouse Strategy; leader of a global team of 400+ IT professionals in the delivering of Data Warehouse, BI, HR and Finance Systems; managed a portfolio of $43M in Data Warehouse and BI Programs.

Led a Windows Server Division product team in developing and shipping System Center Reporting Manager V1 (SCRM). Developed market research and led a Customer Advisory Board to establish product vision and features for SCRM V2.

Created and led a team of 10 IT architects to drive consistent software development across the commercial IT portfolio and led a team of 40+ IT professionals and 40+ vendor resources to create Microsoft’s Sales and Marketing platform for Small/Mid-size business customers; managed a budget of $20M.

Directed a team of software developers delivering architecture, schema design, and development for several large data warehouse and BI applications including MS Sales, Worldwide Marketing Database, and Customer Master. Provided senior technical leadership for multiple releases of the Master Data Management system, MS Analytics, Incentive Compensation, WW Event Management, Siebel CRM, Marketing Campaign Management, and Enterprise Sales Integrated Reporting.

Initiator, architect, and driver of the development and creation of Microsoft’s global customer revenue system, MS Sales.
