I work alongside the Prepress manager supervising a team of four Prepress Operators. We use the Adobe Creative Suite, Enfocus Pitstop and our custom-built Switch workflow to pre-flight and prepare the artwork. Once approved we use Fujifilm's XMF and Esko's i-cut imposition software to plan artwork for printing on our in-house litho and digital machines. Our department also operates an SRA3 Ricoh digital machine.My role is to oversea and manage the workflow in and out of the department ensuring print specifications and strict production deadlines are constantly met.I am heavily involved in implementing new processes and ways of working to keep up with an ever-changing industry and I currently assist with artworking a large range of 2D and complex 3D POS following brand guidelines and client briefs.

Having very little experience when I started I was taught image retouching and used a high-resolution scanner to scan transparency's from one of our largest clients weekly photoshoots.Within two years, i had self-taught myself Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Quark Xpress which was later replaced with Adobe inDesign. I progressed within the prepress department and I was artworking and preparing artwork ready for printing on our in-house Screen and Digital machines.I was often sent to work in the Tesco head office to assist their creative studio with artworking and creating new concepts for their ever-changing POS campaigns.

I worked here on a part-time basis while I studied graphic design at college. My roles included carrying out checks on motor vehicles, full services, wheel alignment and tyre and exhaust replacement. I reported to the garage manager and worked alongside two fully qualified mechanics and an MOT tester.
