I love to build beautiful web interfaces along with the services that enable them. As a result, I spend a lot of my time developing for the front-end but am able to traverse the full-stack when necessary. It is my enthusiasm for quality design and a well-crafted user experience that drives me and I am enthralled by the challenge of making a complicated process appear simple.

Staff EngineerNutanix Jul 2015 - Sep 2020San Jose, California, UsIn this role, I work directly on the the single-page application that is our product’s management interface. This involves working closely with the design and user experience teams to bring new features to life as well as continuing to enhance existing ones. We care deeply about design at Nutanix and I work hard to build the best user interactions possible.► Key ProjectsPerformance Tool – Lead the UI development of specialized app to run various performance benchmarking test suites against our product. This tool helps drive revenue by enabling Sales Engineers to quickly and repeatedly prove the value of the product.Support Integration - Architected and lead development of integration between our management interface and support services. This enables us to simplify workflows for common support actions like case creation and licensing by keeping the user within a single interface.Licensing Services - Redesigned the licensing APIs to increase their performance and simplify the request payload. This enhancement reduced the time for a licensing operation from ~35 seconds to ~2 seconds. Also, with a simplified API specification, it is much easier for a third party to integrate with the service. -
Senior Software EngineerNutanix Jan 2013 - Jun 2015San Jose, California, UsIn this role my primary focus was to serve as technical lead for building a next generation customer portal from scratch. As a part of this, the entire infrastructure was written from the ground up in Javascript and moved off of Salesforce to remove costly user license dependencies. This move enabled us to easily collaborate and rapidly produce new features as a team. It also yielded a fully RESTful support API which laid the groundwork for future corporate wide integrations.► Other notable projects:• Built software upgrade APIs for serving the latest Nutanix software to units in the field making one-click upgrades possible.• Enhanced support interactions by building a dashboard UI displaying realtime customer metrics to the Support Team.► Additional contributions in this role include:Automation• Wrote remote connection script, with user auditing, for reverse SSH into customer clusters• Wrote watchdog script, which monitored the build server for new stable releases. When identified, it handles fetching, metadata generation, metadata write to MongoDB, auto-upload to S3, and email notification• Wrote script to automate deployment of Nutanix documentation• Co-wrote (86%*) of alert, phone-home health data, and factory configuration data parsers• Co-wrote (50%*) of cluster health check script for validating current configuration and identifying any known issues which may be affecting the current cluster• Automated the Nutanix upgrade process reducing it from 44 manual steps to 7. Additionally, it drastically reduced the potential for human error during the process and dropped the total upgrade time from 1 hour to 20 minutesSupport Infrastructure• Built 5 node, mongodb replica set as a centralized datastore for parsed support data • Configured SFDC data mirror in MySQL via Relation Junction ETL tool• Setup heroku-like (git push) deployment for internally hosted apps• Implemented and moved all team projects to git version control -
