    Along with my co-Manager I am responsible for managing the day to day affairs of our Irvine Global Network Operations Center and our team of Operations Engineers (albeit currently primarily remote workers) as well as:- Assist, develop, and support members of the GNOC in all work objectives.- Collaborate with IT/Operations management, Live Operations teams, and other stakeholders topromote department vision as well as maintain Production/Development environments.- Taking a data-first approach in measuring success: utilize reporting and analytics (Tableau) for monitoring of improvements against key performance metrics for the department and our organization as it pertains to incident/problem management.- Lead our Incident Management response and methodologies (ticketed in JIRA), with an aim of driving rapid recovery and resolution of Major Incidents (based primarily on ITIL Framework).- Helping our team understand and apply everything-as-code methodologies across configuration, infrastructure, orchestration, and elsewhere.- Maintain, expand (or contract/collapse), and monitor GNOC cloud footprint in both Private (OpenStack) and Public (AWS, GCP, etc.) environments. Forecast, control, and report spend.- Solve challenges relating to process performance or consistency and identify opportunities forautomation throughout our processes and daily work (key to reducing TOIL) primarily using Python and relevant related technologies).- Ensure all PCI/SOX compliance controls for which the GNOC has a role are up to date and executed in accordance with the stated policy/story.- Develop learning plans to include areas of GNOC interest, such as: Linux Systems, Networks and relevant tech, Cloud Platforms, ITSM/Service Operations processes, Monitoring/Observability Platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog, NewRelic, Splunk), Software Development Life Cycle (CI/CD pipeline, SLI/SLO, Error Budget, Burn Rate) and any other technologies that could assist career development.
