Led a non-profit organization that provided business counseling and training to entrepreneurs working to establish their small businesses in Central and Southern Virginia. Guided a team of 4 FTE, creating a robust volunteer and client base in our service locations while tripling our resources and serving over 40 volunteers and 100 clients. Counseled the organization’s start-up entrepreneur clients, helping them define their markets, develop profitable business models, and create business goals. Facilitated group learning sessions to teach entrepreneurs practical ways to understand their finances, reach their customers, and improve core business operations, implementing a new curriculum. Created relationships with partner organizations to identify new clients and increase availability to training, micro-lending, and mentorship for existing clients; partners including Goodwill, Kiva, and local government. Developed partnerships with local, state, and federal governments, local foundations, and large corporations to raise $180,000 in a year, allowing increased growth.

Analyzed and interpreted operational data to assess business practices, develop system process designs, and support on-going management. Presented relevant information to key stakeholders to frame and drive strategic decision-making. Identified and implemented opportunity to optimize sales call routing logic, leading to a minimum 5% improvement in sales volume by prioritizing higher value calls and $15/MM year in increased revenue. Lead operational reporting and continuous improvement support for call centers with $280MM in annual sales.  Analyzed operational data to determine requirements for $6MM call center IT systems project, working with internal stakeholders and external vendors.  Created data controls as a member of Lean Six Sigma project team that redesigned a fee waiver process.
