About Juami Van Gils

I followed a Liberal Arts & Science bachelor program at Amsterdam University College, where I obtained my BSc cum laude. Afterwards, I completed two master programs: Biomolecular Sciences and Bioinformatics & Systems Biology at the VU university in Amsterdam. I have been in the student Program Committee of both programs. I recently finished my PhD in the Bioinformatics group at the VU university. My research focused on the role of proteins and their structure in neurodegenerative diseases. Now, I am working as a bioinformatician at Neogene, doing R&D on novel immunotherapy treatments.I like a challenging and dynamic work environment and am interested in both fundamental and applied research.I also teach zumba and pilates classes at Universitair Sport Centrum in Amsterdam.In my free time, I love singing, acting and dancing.
