I attended NC State University (Bachelor's), The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (Master's) as a North Carolina Principal Fellow (Cohort 8) and Northeastern University (Doctorate) to complete my education. I am passionate about my students, public education, curriculum, instruction and the necessity to move toward a true technology-integrated 21st Century learning model for all of our digital native learners. I see my position as Principal as the opportunity to be a teacher of teachers and model life-long learning for my stakeholders.I am a graduate of the Principals' Executive Program in both the "Survival School for New Principals" (Cohort 1) and the Leadership program for New Principals (LPNP) as well. I have presented our work in public schools on the local, state and national forums. I've given presentations for the Western Regional Education Association summer conference, the NC High School Network, ASCD Annual Conference, National Principals' Conference (2017) as well as been a guest speaker/presenter for the Principal's Executive program, The Southwest Education Alliance and the UNC-Charlotte Master's program. The topics of presentation included both instructional and management aspects of the principalship at both the middle and high school level.In July of 2019, after 21 years with Gaston County Schools, my husband and I relocated to Central Florida. In July of 2019, I began working for Charter School Associates as Principal of Sunlake Academy of Math and Science.
