Led the implementation of a strategic framework across Rio Tinto to enhance Global Stakeholder Engagement, driven by Board edict that “managing geopolitical and government relationships is now recognized as core to [the] business.” - Designed and implemented new country-specific models of engagement for Tier 1 countries such as Australia, China, Japan, Mongolia, Guinea, Peru and the US - Drove an assessment of external affairs capacity needs across the business - Built suite of best-practice stakeholder engagement tools and processes – now used by all Country Heads - Led the design and implementation of the Rio Tinto Stakeholder Engagement Academy including: * Implementing a global residential course to train 1500 management employees, * Partnering with INSEAD, Georgetown, and Queensland Universities to design a customized program, * Designing a state of the art on-line presence for self-managed learning, - Managed a project budget of $15 million and hired and led a team of three senior principal advisers
