I am an experienced business consultant who specialises in promoting business relations between Irish firms and potential clients and investors from China. I am very comfortable in the Irish business environment. I came from Dublin initially as a university student. While working for my BA in international business and MSc in commerce, I was fortunate in building up an extensive network of friends and contacts among the younger generation of Irish entrepreneurs and executives.My consultancy services have proved particularly helpful in the preliminary development of China-Ireland projects. Chinese clients with little or no previous exposure to Ireland find that my confident but low-key approach works very well in the welcoming and informal environment on which Ireland prides itself. I have the social network to introduce the personal and professional contacts the clients will need (including accounting, banking, production and logistics). In addition, I am well-qualified to assist my clients in designing their initial market research and in developing a viable entry strategy. My own background offers considerable advantages to Irish firms looking for new profit opportunities in China, the world’s second largest economy. I comes from Liaoning, a province which has a long history of close relations with Irish businesses. My home town is the “Garden City” of Dalian, which ranks amongst the fastest growing and most advanced financial, manufacturing and foreign trade centres in China. I am also involved in cultural and educational projects which have developed as a result of the rapid expansion of relations between Ireland and China and is active in a range of community and NGO activities. As a result, I am particularly well-placed to act as a bridge between the business communities of Ireland and China.
