I am a Landscape Architect with a specialisation in Landscape Planning. Within my role at BML, my primary responsibilities revolve around conducting and peer reviewing assessments related to landscape, natural character, and visual effects. These assessments are specifically focused on Regional and District Plan policies, spanning a range of development types, including infrastructure (Hydro, wind and solar), rural, coastal, and urban projects.A significant aspect of my work involves adopting an integrated design approach, necessitating close collaboration with professionals from various disciplines. This collaboration extends to both internal and external stakeholders at BML, such as engineers, architects, ecologists, heritage experts, and planners. By drawing upon their expertise and combining it with my own, we strive to create comprehensive and well-rounded solutions for our projects.Through this collaborative process, we ensure that our designs and assessments align with the specific requirements and objectives of each project. By considering factors such as environmental sustainability, cultural heritage (landscape), and planning regulations, we aim to deliver high-quality outcomes that enhance the overall landscape and visual aspects of the built environment.In addition to my role as a Landscape Planner, I am also a team leader for a team of 11 designers at BML. Furthermore, I serve as the technical coordinator for the Landscape Planning Discipline. In this capacity, I remain attune to the industry trends, coordinate submissions on legislation / reform and internally collaborate with the other Landscape Planners at BML to develop and lead our strategic plan.

My role as a Landscape Architect with the Design Review Unit was to provide general support to the Auckland Design Office’s work and contribute specialist technical input into regional, public and private sector developments. I provide specialist/expert advice for pre-applications and resource consent applications as well as other design review processes. Key Focus Areas include: Landscape, Visual and Natural Character Assessments.

Responsible for production and peer review of landscape, urban and visual assessments for a number of projects throughout New Zealand. These projects have been working throughout a range of scales - national, regional, district and site.

My work at Bespoke enabled me to become involved in a large number of projects that in turn provided me with a set of diverse skills throughout a variety of scales and stages of the design process. Experience included; landscape visual assessments, CPTED assessments, community consultation programmes, conceptual design of open space, walkways & playspaces. Detailed design sets, graphic rendering, 3D modelling, native restoration, planting plans & site administration.

LASC 101 – An introduction to Landscape Architecture, LASC 203 - Landscape History & LASC 322 – Sustainable Design & Planning Studio. Roles included tutoring three individual streams of 20+ students, preparing & presenting lectures. Facilitating discussions, preparing project & tutorial briefs, holding individual critiques & marking students projects.

2.5 year post graduate entry course in Landscape Architecture.

Responsible for assessing entitlements for a case load of up to 100 claimants. Skills gained included ability to manage a significant work load, whilst multi-tasking in a very deadline & target driven environment. Significant scope placed on dealing with difficult customers in demanding situations.

My role involved providing Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) to offenders on education, training, and employment opportunities. I also worked on the HOPE project (Helping Offenders by Providing Employment), which included liaising directly with potential employers and applying for jobs on behalf of offenders nearing release. Working within the prison environment required strict adherence to security protocols, demonstrating my ability to thrive in a demanding setting. Additionally, I conducted a six-month research project into offenders' aspirations towards work, which involved conducting one-on-one interviews with offenders to gather insights.
