Gemini is an in-house build CDN for delivery of live and on demand (VOD) video streaming to IP based devices. Was the Principal Engineer for the Gemini VOD solution.

Senior team member providing technical contract services for United Launch Alliance (formally Lockheed Martin), a company that engineers, builds, and launches rockets for commercial and government satellites.• Provided Tier 3 level customer support to corporate and engineering technical issues.• Led the Enterprise backup initiative to architect and implement an enterprise backup solution.o Evaluated three products and provided technical recommendations, which resulted in EMC Networker being selected.o Insured smaller off-site locations were utilizing local network speeds for backups, and having Disaster Recovery measures with replication of the data back to HQ.• Implement and administer the enterprise backup solution.• Led the design of the Red Hat Linux environment.o Evaluated, recommended, and implemented Red Hat Satellite Server to provide local administration and patching to the client systems in the Enterprise.o Designed and implemented a kickstart server to decrease the build time of client systems from a couple hours to under 20 minutes.o Established a baseline for packages installed on the client systems, so that administration of the individual systems was uniform and consistent.o Designed a web page to ease the creation of kickstart files down to a couple clicks to allow less knowledgeable administrators the ability to build and deploy systems.• Led in the architecture of the VMware virtualization environment.o Grew ESX hosts from one to eleven in a production cluster, and implemented two more for a development cluster.o As systems were brought over from the parent companies they were virtualized thus reducing the data center footprint and saving on power and cooling costs.

Architected, implemented, and administered Linux (Red Hat and SuSE) and Solaris systems. Reduced costs by moving individual Linux servers to a virtualized environment. Developed and implemented Web-based, central account administration to add and remove UNIX accounts without having access to systems. Extensive experience in monitoring systems. Engineered and implemented backup solutions, corporate email gateway with virus scanning, external corporate DNS servers, Internet proxy pass-through servers, and internal corporate IMAP servers. Vendor Technical Manager: Developed and grew vendor relations with third-party vendors. Called and met in person with vendors to assure knowledge of vendors’ roadmaps, bug issues and fixes, and future release features. Trained Operations team in implementation and support of vendors’ products.Development: Developed Perl and shell scripts to facilitate data movement between processing centers, and to customers, and to monitor applications.
