In mining, where the bulk of my career growth and development has taken place, I began as a Haul Truck operator in 2004. In 2005 I was appointed the safety auditor for my crew and worked between that, ground labor, pump management, and crew mentor until I moved into Dispatch as a fill in in 2006. I continued in both haulage and Dispatch through 2007, when I was trained by Caterpillar to be an operator/trainer for my company, becoming certified to run 793 Haulage in that capacity. I began mentoring employees, writing training materials and SOPs (Safe Operating Procedures) in this time, as well as continuing to develop my skills as a fill in Dispatch Supervisor, which became a full time position for me in mid-2007. In October 2008 I moved to engineering, where I worked as a fragmentation technician until 2009, when the reduction in force saw me split with Freeport.I took tractor operator work, and some other odds and end temporary jobs through 2009 until November, when I was hired back with Freeport as a temporary HR worker.In March of 2010, I returned to my career path in Operations, again working with equipment and Dispatch. I began shadowing the Dispatch engineer, working on Document Compliance (OHSAS, MSHA, ISO), and developing the SharePoint site for both my site and our sister site (Chino Mine).Since then I have worked in varying capacities of increasing responsibility. My current role sees me training Dispatch Supervisors, maintaining site mine technology (High precision GPS, Dispatch, etc.), coordinating with vendors, planning maintenance with my operations equipment, programing and diagnosing technical problems, maintaining the SharePoint libraries I have developed (now used as a compliance test tool for SOX auditing), continuing documentation and compliance reviews, coordinating with Corporate work groups to standardize Dispatch, HPGPS, and regular operational practices, and developing new forms and technology to make mine life safer and more efficient.I am a catalyst for change, and have a firm belief that if a job has a safe method to produce, we should examine it. I believe in standardization across sites, companies and industries, to make faster advancement possible. I believe that the most important part of any job is keeping your employees well trained, engaged, and informed.My skill sets are crew management, technical implementation, planning and coordination within the organization as well as outside vendors, compliance auditing, and training and development. I also have Advanced Skills in MS office and B.O. analytics.
