Experimental study of hybrid magnon systems for microwave and quantum applications in Prof. Luqiao Liu's group (4 first author publications. 14 co-author publications)-Realized one of the first on-chip and lithographically scalable Circuit QED architecture for magnon-photon coupling by combining superconducting resonators with magnetic thin films. Demonstrated strong magnon-photon coupling with three orders of magnitude reduction in spin number. Demonstrated enhanced single spin coupling strength using low-impedance lumped element resonators.-Realized strong and tunable magnon-magnon coupling in 2D Van der Waals antiferromagnet CrCl3 by symmetry breaking. Demonstrated CrCl3 as a convenient testbed for studying antiferromagnetic dynamics in microwave frequencies.-Proposed theoretically the operation of a spin-torque-oscillator (STO) maser device which can break area, power, and linewidth limitations of traditional STO devices and lead to scalable, compact microwave lasers. Implemented spin-photon coupling in widely used GPU-accelerated micromagnetic simulation package Mumax3 and published on GitHub.-Realized the first on-chip microwave photon-magnon hybrid system with electrically tunable cooperativity by incorporating spin-Hall effect for tuning magnon dissipation. Combined DC current injection pads with planar metallic coplanar waveguide resonators. -Built cryogenic (1.5K) microwave measurement system and designed PCBs for simultaneous DC and RF measurements

-Prepared and designed tasks and kits for at-home only EM labs, including microstrip transmission lines, impedance transformers, antennas, and resonators. Assessed lab activities and guided final projects proposals and implementations.-Led 2 hrs office hours every week. Overall rating 6.9/7.0.

- Calibrations for novel quantum devices in Qiskit Experiments. - Tuned up single qubit and two qubit cross resonance gates on an uncalibrated quantum chip using Qiskit Experiments.- Demonstrated single qubit gate fidelities beyond 99.9% by interleaved randomized benchmarking in Qiskit Experiments.- Analyzed Hamiltonian of a novel tunable coupler circuit which does not require direct qubit-qubitcoupling. Numerically demonstrated tunable coupling strength from off state to 5 MHz usingrealistic experimental parameters. Identified circuit advantages of mitigating frequency collisionsby novel energy level alignments.

-Led 6 hrs/week of discussion sessions in EE graduate level class with 20 students. -Participated in psets grading, exam problems selection, and final exam grading. -Overall rating 6.3/7.0.

Combinatorics studies advised by Prof. Sen-Peng Eu (1 publication)-Proposed a generalization of planar Motzkin paths into higher dimensions, discovered a recursive bijective algorithm, and established a bijection between the set of all generalized Motzkin paths and the set of all Standard Young Tableaux (SYT)-Revealed an unexpected relation between SYTs with even/odd number of rows through the generalized Motzkin paths representation
