I am a doctoral student at Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut. I am passionate about social justice in education, in particular preparing preservice social studies teachers to effectively educate all students. An experienced elementary and middle school social studies teacher, I have expertise working with diverse student populations in urban, suburban and international settings. In my professional career I have designed and implemented professional development for inservice teachers on racially inclusive, own-voice literature, understanding microaggressions, and designing inclusive curriculum. I am a daughter, sister, wife and mother.
