Project Advisor to Toowoomba Regional Council on MT Kynoch Stage 4 Water Treatment Plant upgrade

As the Client Project Manager I was accountable for delivering $350m of mining and quarrying assets in NSW, VIC and QLD. I lead all of the projects below from planning approvals through to construction, commissioning, and operational handover.Sydney Aggregates ($198.7m)The primary purpose of Boral’s Sydney Aggregates Project was to provide new production and dispatch capabilities for the supply of coarse and fine aggregates for use in pre-mixed concrete, concrete products and asphalt production in the Greater Sydney Region. The project was made up of four separate sites, Peppertree mine, crushing and screening plant, rail loading and unloading, receival terminal at Maldon and Limestone sand facility. Deer Park Quarry Upgrade ($85m)The primary purpose of Boral’s The Deer Park Upgrade Project was to provide new production and despatch capabilities for the supply of coarse and fine aggregates for use in pre-mixed concrete, concrete products and asphalt production in the Greater Melbourne Region.The project consisted of primary, secondary, and tertiary crushing and screening plant with associated materials handling and site infrastructure. Ormeau Quarry Upgrade ($60m)The primary purpose of Boral’s Sydney Aggregates Project was to provide new production and despatch capabilities for the supply of coarse and fine aggregates for use in pre-mixed concrete, concrete products and asphalt production in the Greater Brisbane Region.

Starting off as the Regional General Manager due to my Design and Construct capability and background experience within the company in my earlier career I absorbed both roles under my remit. The Infrastructure North region included Laing O’Rourke’s projects in Queensland and the Northern Territory. With a focus on water and materials handling projects. Engineering Services consist of the management and coordination of Sydney and Jakarta Design offices that were engaged in providing design and study services to Laing O’Rourke Australian and Indonesian Regions. Staff numbers ranged from 80-120 engineers and draftsmen. The projects were predominately in Coal, Iron ore and Water Treatment

As the Project Director I was responsible for the Darra to Springfield Transport Corridor a $400m project. Stage 1 of this project saw the construction of a new dual passenger railway line to Richlands. Works include 4.3km of new Centenary Highway, railway station at Richlands, 2km of local road upgrades, seven road bridges, three rail bridges, 4.5km of dual track rail and 5.6km of pedestrian and cycle path.

As the General Manager for the Western Region of John Holland’s Western Australia projects I had full profit and loss accountability for the $180 million annual portfolio of projects. These included major road upgrades, wharf redevelopment, water, wastewater, commercial building, mine infrastructure and railway infrastructure.
