In my role I help harness the interest of community members to support various activities of the organization and our core mission. I work to deepen each volunteer's connection with the Riverkeeper's mission. I work closely with many staff members across multiple teams to help organize and implement initiatives where volunteer engagement opportunities exist.I plan, organize, implement, track, and assess a multitude of programs including but not limited to, cleanup events, community science initiatives, community outreach programs, and special events. I work to develop volunteer opportunities throughout the basin that will enhance our mission and drive community awareness and action. I assess and implement recruitment strategies, work to establish a positive relationship with our volunteers and our community members, maintain and foster positive relationships with collaborative partners and corporate sponsors, attend and host relevant community meetings and committees, develop and execute community science programs, maintaining grant deliverables and reporting requirements, plan and lead educational trainings, maintain a budget, work on the water to scout and evaluate areas of project interest, and so much more.

During the off season my responsibilities focus mainly on future planning and preparation. This includes but is not limited to developing seasonal programs and details, creating a budget for the department, planning staffing and recruitment measures and tactics, and working to ensure that we were in compliance with proper environmental standards and safety procedures and protocols.

Responsible for assisting the Volunteer Coordinator in the planning, back end prep and registration creation, and operations of the largest one day river cleanup in the southeast. Tasks included supply prep and organization, communication with volunteers and partner organizations, registration assistance, and site management.

Responsible for overseeing the safety and enjoyment of guests and multiple employees over several locations at a given time. Lead guests and staff during planned activities. Work with management on new and ongoing training methods; continually updating those methods, procedures and documents relating to the department. Creating and managing databases to log and track both daily and yearly relevant data, including user trends, inventory, lessons and sales.

My responsibilities included leading and overseeing operations on a daily basis as well as handling all high level responsibilities of the business. Managing the day-to-day operations includes driving sales, creating positive customer relationships and ensuring satisfaction, fostering a positive work environment for our team, recruiting, hiring, and training employees, scheduling, inventory, and working in the daily operations of a food and beverage health store. Managing the higher level business functions include monitoring the financial performance of the store, analyzing sales data, preparing budgets and financial reports, developing and executing strategies to drive sales growth and enhance brand awareness, all marketing aspects, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, food quality standards, and licensing requirements, and maintaining a safe and clean working environment for both customers and employees.

My responsibilities include leadership and team management over approximately 60 part time employees across various daily and event based programs, the oversight of day-to-day operations of the department including maintenance of equipment and supplies, compliance with regulatory standards, implementation of on and off water safety and management techniques. My operational duties also consist of the recruitment, hiring, training, and scheduling of staff. I work to develop new and economically efficient programs for guests, staff, train, and operate those programs on a regular basis. Developing and maintaining a departmental budget, working to allocate those resources effectively, and identify cost-savings measures without compromising staff or guest enjoyment is a higher level aspect of my role.
