I have publications in 45 international journals.Fuel cell alone is insufficient to meet the requirements of electric vehicle, in particular the fuel cell response during transient and instantaneous peak power need is relatively inadequate. A potential solution to this problem can be achieved by hybridizing the fuel cells with energy storage systems having high energy and power densities. As a solution to improve the performance of the fuel cell system, super-capacitor are considered as a promising avenue. I have working experience on supercapacitors and OER and HER water splitting applications. Nanorod films of cobalt oxide were grown by a unique oblique angle deposition (OAD) technique in an e-beam evaporator for supercapacitor electrode applications. This technique offers a non-chemical route to achieve large aspect ratio nanorods. The fabricated electrodes at OAD 80o exhibited a specific capacitance of 2875 F/g. We have also achieved NiO nanostructures by OAD technique in an e-beam evaporator for supercapacitor applications. The sample deposited at OAD 75o showed highest supercapacitance value of 344 F/g. NiO nanorod electrodes exhibits excellent electrochemical stability with no degradation in capacitance after 5000 charge-discharge cycles. The nanostructured film adhered well to the substrate and had 131 % capacity retention. I completed my Ph. D in 2006 at Crystal Growth Centre, Anna University, Chennai. I also worked on quantum dot based non-volatile memory devices. It is demonstrated that the devices exhibited ultra-fast switching speeds (~ 10ns), large ON/OFF ratio (~10,000), good reliability (>100,000 cycles of operation) and are stable (long retention). Also have wide range of experience in various fields like, Terahertz generation based on GaN Gunn diode. Epi- structure device designed using SILVACO simulation software. Device constructed with aim of achieving low current density (reduced operating temperature), electromigration and arching effects. Cathode luminescence mapping of the same samples and identification of defects using the X-ray topography data. GaN based LED – efficiency enhancement due to surface Plasmon. Enhancement of light emitting diode (LED) efficiency by establishing the interaction between surface plasmon of silver and InGaN/GaN multi quantum well (MQW) LED.
