I have a fundamental belief that people and buildings are intricately connected—a belief that began during my four years in design school and deepened throughout my career in interior design, project, and facilities management.After earning a degree in philosophy, pursuing (and later abandoning) a Masters of Divinity from Dallas Theological Seminary, and building a career in restaurant management, I returned to school to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design.My career evolved from interior design to construction management, including the administration of large estate properties. With a family legacy of business from my father and creative hospitality from my mother, I developed a unique perspective shaped by my background in philosophy, customer service, and design. This eclectic experience naturally led me to focus on problem-solving and creating thoughtful, functional spaces.I constantly asked myself, "How can you design an effective, efficient, and creative space without understanding how people will use it?" Each project started with a deep investigation into the end use and the people who would inhabit the space. Understanding the "why" allowed me to craft the "what" and "how."GEN-D was born in 2020 from this vision of how people, places, and events interact, driven by a growing need among those who own and use space. Our mission is to focus on the backdrop of spaces so our clients can focus on building their communities. We serve as the single point of contact for managing the maintenance and usage of your space, saving you time, energy, and effort in maximizing its potential.What sets GEN-D apart is our personalized approach. Traditional property management firms focus on leasing and maintaining large commercial spaces, often outsourcing most of the work. However, we recognized that smaller spaces have different needs, and we opened up the property management concept to those with small to medium-sized buildings and residential spaces.Believing that you get the best results when you control the process, we set a goal to complete 85% of the work on each property with our highly trained team. This ensures that you receive the quality and consistency you need to make the most of your space.
