I’m the Head of Marketing and Brand at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.I lead our marketing, social media, design and print teams for the University.I have extensive higher education marketing experience, across academic schools, international and UK markets and global research reputation.I also have a solid commercial background with 15 years in London at some of the UK’s top marketing agencies, including Saatchi & Saatchi and Iris, as well as numerous brand and digital agencies. I’ve led global marketing campaigns and branding activities for Samsung, Costa Coffee, Sony, American Express, Coca-Cola, Cadbury, Nikon, Diageo and many other well known brands. I love developing insight-based strategy and creating great creative work that influences audience behavioural change and delivers results. Notable achievements at Heriot-Watt:Marketing delivery for ‘Future Made for Success’, an award-winning postgraduate campaign. The activity led to almost £1m of incremental income for the University, at a time when international student recruitment significantly dropped due to the pandemic. I led the marketing for the launch of our newest academic school, the Global College, offering alternative pathways into higher education. This has been a great success for Heriot-Watt and something that I remain passionate about.I’m a member of the team that helped towards an increase in our QS World Rankings from 281st in the world to 235th – gaining a position within the top 250 institutions in the world.
