During college at the University of Arkansas I worked full time as a veterinary technician. I graduated with a BSA in Poultry Science. I started with Pilgrims in 2007 as a broiler tech. For many years I also served as our county show broiler superintendent. After 6 years in broilers I transferred into the breeder dept and currently am trained in both breeder pullets and hens. My primary interest and focus is on chick and hen health. I work closely with contract growers to minimize mortality and increase uniformity with better brood and housing procedures. I monitor the vaccination crews to minimize negative effects on birds and maximize immune response. I strive to stop problems before they start with great attention to detail and extensive knowledge of bird health and general bird behavior.
