My interests lie in 3 distinct areas. First, my education is in biotechnology. Discovering how disease works in order to find a way to stop it is truly fascinating to me.Second, my experience is in the medical administration. I fell into it quite by accident when I joined the Air Force Reserves. But the administrative personnel are really the ones who keep modern medicine functioning (for better or worse). Properly managing the administrative details of the patient's care goes a long way to keeping their attitude positive, which is as crucial to their healing as the science involved.Last, I've loved history for as long as I can remember. I don't think we can really know where we're going without first knowing where we've come from, and how we came to where we are. Understanding history is as much a function of understanding who and why, as when and how.I think what ties the three together is being presented with a question or puzzle, and then finding the answer to it so the process (whether a lab experiment, administrative task, or academic research) can move forward.If I could find a career that somehow uses skills from all three areas, I would be somewhere akin to heaven.
