Key Duties:• Establish and maintain relationships with Rheumatologists, Oncologists and their nursing and administrative staff, as well as with courier pharmacies.• Provide patient and doctor support to Biologic and Oncology patients with a support program and system.• Assist with educating patients on their disease and conditions.• Ensures patient compliance with treatment plans.• Assist with script renewals and medical aid authorizations.• Draw monthly reports from the CRM for management to ascertain client compliance, uptake and specialist scripting. Draw reports as required to ensure that “adverse events” have been recorded and reported to patient safety.• Responsible for all necessary reports associated with a patient support program.• Assist patients to apply for authorization from their medical aids. This may require ex-gratia application or appeals as well as enlisting the assistance of patient advocacy groups. • Provide program and system training to the other support nurses as well as the supporting field force.• Work closely with the CRM System Company to constantly upgrade and add new features or reports as we see the need.• Assist with training in state hospitals where an alternative cost-effective version of the Biologic is used.• Keep updated with current medical aid changes and rules related to the disease field.• Extensive knowledge of Patient Safety and Adverse Event Reporting within a Patient Orientated Program.• Set up Training Guidelines in Covid times when we were in Lockdown, making it difficult to reach some patients via home visits.• Microsoft teams, Zoom and WhatsApp Video Call trainings to provide training to patients and get them started on their treatment.Reason for seeking other employment: My contract is sadly coming to an end in April 2024.

Key Duties(Independent Contractor, flexi-hours)• Work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high standards of care for patients.• Manage a wound clinic: schedule appointments with patients, assess, plan and implement wound care plans, evaluate progress and adjust where necessary.• Manage clinic stock and provide stock usage per client to the accounts department for billing.• Home visits to patients unable to travel.• Accompany patients to doctors’ appointments.• Scrub in on theatre visits to apply negative pressure wound dressings once the surgeon completed the surgery.• Provide post-surgery wound care and report all healing concerns to surgeons and collaborate on treatment plans.Reason For Leaving: I accepted a long term, full time contract at Novartis
