I reorganized the department, hired four new staff for a total of fourteen, and raised $168 million. Irrevocable gift assets under management grew from $29 million to $58 million. Launched a recognition society, The Legacy Club, for bequest donors. By 7/95 membership totaled 5,000. Created outreach program for real estate gift program (trade lands) resulting in four published articles and 27 speaking engagements. Founded three-year, 26-member National Real Estate Advisory Board (NREAB), consisting of leaders in the real estate industry. NREAB members provided $3 million in low-interest (2%) land loans to two Conservancy state programs, advised 10 state programs, and were instrumental in creating the Urban Land Institute’s first Environmental Task Force. In 1994 I was given added responsibility to manage 1,470 Corporate Associate donors ($1,000+ giving level) and exceeded first year fundraising goal. Created one-time executive-loan program and raised funds to start a new minority internship program. Launched the International Leadership Council, a $25,000 per year Fortune 500 corporate giving society, chaired by John Smale, then Chairman of General Motors.
