This was a secondment role (maternity leave contract) as the Manager of the Communication team within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Leadership Team (A&TSILT). I led a team of direct reports; led the First Nations COVID-19 Communication response; created and launched the 'Kindness, Care and Community' campaign during COVID-19 to encourage keeping mind, body and spirit strong; supported the rollout of the Better Together Medication Access program; supported installation of new public hospital displays as part of the Elaine Chambers-Hegarty artwork project; expanded the Better Together Health Van social media presence; delivered the 2021 digital NAIDOC week events program; rolled out Phase 2 of the Accurate Identification campaign. A&TSILT works across six public hospitals, various community health centres, residential care facilities and mobile and outreach teams providing support, guidance and feedback to improve the delivery of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services that are culturally appropriate and culturally safe.
