In this role I am currently delivering Queensland’s first LGBTIQ+ Strategy including leading community engagement and development of the Strategy. I also work across the broader portfolio to ensure effective and genuine stakeholder engagement, and sector communication to inform strategy and to deliver a wide range of initiatives to support the department’s commitment to create thriving communities.

I led and coordinated projects across the Communities portfolio, developing strategies and operational communication plans to promote departmental programs and initiatives.This included publication and promotion of Communities 2032 and communication products to support flagship initiatives such as the Communities Innovation Fund.

This was a secondment role where I led, coached and mentored a team of direct reports. I led the development of the Safe Work Month 2022 Strategy; created a new brand 'Work Well 365' for rollout alongside the decade long Work Safe.Home Safe message to encourage engagement with safety initiatives, events and resources year-round; supported my team to plan and deliver 16 events including the Work Well Breakfast Forums, Work Well Conference, Work Well 365 Speaker Series; and developed various communication strategies and operational plans, and implemented tactics to support several portfolios under the Office of Industrial Relations (OIR) umbrella.

I proudly developed and nurtured the Agency’s first communication channels and products during the Agency's start-up phase. I partnered with the First Peoples Disability Network and Uncle Paul Calcott to deliver Getting Strong Again, a culturally safe resource to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants, and a bespoke training program for Support Planners; developed and delivered the NIISQ Photographic Exhibition and awards event; provided oversight of the NIISQ visual identity and brand; developed the First Nations artwork branding project; wrote and produced the NIISQ Agency's Annual Reports from 2017-2020; prepared stakeholder newsletters; developed various assets including fact sheets, brochures, stakeholder packs... and much much more!

This was a secondment role (maternity leave contract) as the Manager of the Communication team within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Leadership Team (A&TSILT). I led a team of direct reports; led the First Nations COVID-19 Communication response; created and launched the 'Kindness, Care and Community' campaign during COVID-19 to encourage keeping mind, body and spirit strong; supported the rollout of the Better Together Medication Access program; supported installation of new public hospital displays as part of the Elaine Chambers-Hegarty artwork project; expanded the Better Together Health Van social media presence; delivered the 2021 digital NAIDOC week events program; rolled out Phase 2 of the Accurate Identification campaign. A&TSILT works across six public hospitals, various community health centres, residential care facilities and mobile and outreach teams providing support, guidance and feedback to improve the delivery of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services that are culturally appropriate and culturally safe.
