I manage a number of middle- and high-school summer educational travel programs (with a focus on exploration or language immersion) in Switzerland, Italy, France, and the Netherlands. I am responsible for a full spectrum of program logistics, from food, travel, and accommodations to activity planning and curriculum implementation. I collaborate with international contacts and nurture our long-standing relationships with them, as well as develop new contacts with the same level of care and sustainability. My job is to assist high school English teachers at Lycée Général et Technologique Victor Hugo. My responsibilities vary on a daily basis; for some classes I assist the teacher as they teach the class, but for others I lead the class with the help of the teacher. In addition, I frequently take half of the class (approx. 12 students) to another classroom and lead them through a lesson that I've created. I also conduct mock oral exams for students in their final year to help them prepare for their Baccalaureate exam.

Responsibilities included interacting with American and Canadian customers and providing a positive vacation experience for those staying at the Burlington Community Boathouse. Was required to communicate with Québécois patrons and ensure that all interactions went smoothly, without a language barrier - this meant speaking French regularly. Day-to-day tasks included communicating with boaters and the Coast Guard via VHF radio, assisting boats as they docked and departed, daily cleanup of the Waterfront Park, operating the Harbormaster boat for water sampling and harbor patrols, and making reservations over the phone. Dockmasters were responsible for cash transactions as well as developing excellent customer service skills.
