Design and develop multilayer knitted fabric for the bedding industry through the use of hand drawn or computer aided techniques. Responsible for the entire product design process including market research, color development, mood board creation, sketching, CAD work and technical execution of fabric. Create products for merchandised collections within specific price points for customer needs. Collaborate with R&D , manufacturing and sales to deliver a high-quality, innovative product that meets customers demands and tight deadlines.

As Knit Designer I design and develop three layer knitted fabric for mattress top panels through the use of hand drawn or computer aided techniques. Responsible for the entire product design process including market research, mood board creation, sketching and CAD work. Create appropriate machine files and set up all SKU information. Work closely with machine technicians to receive best results in cloth.

As Sample Manager I process all woven and knit swatch requests and sample yardage generated from action requests and client orders. Plan production on all sample fabrics. Cut down fabric swatches, overlock the edges and ship in a timely manner. Approve all sample rolls for quality and color tests prior to shipping. Delegate tasks to assistant as needed. Maintain safety guidelines and cleanliness of the department and order supplies. In Design Department, I created concept boards for Sealy and Serta sales presentations. Created all booth graphics and collateral for annual trade event. Established trend, color and design direction for collections. Created visual identity for new collections to debut at market. Developed logos for proprietary brands. Merchandised 2016 Open Line Collections for woven upholstery borders.

“Coming Home to Cotton: Envisioning the Future” is the annual College of Textiles Fabric for Life Student Textile Design Challenge supported through a grant from Cotton Incorporated. The exhibit pointed to the valuable features of cotton fiber, color development, fabric manipulation, and finishing techniques in soft goods for the home. The design challenge culminated in an exhibition at ITMA Showtime, an international textiles market trade event and the largest decorative fabric show in the United States.As Graphic Designer, I developed and implemented the brand identity across various print and web platforms including posters, t-shirts, programs, e-vites, mailers and signage for the exhibition. Furthermore I designed and developed a PowerPoint presentation and Wordpress website to educate students about cotton fiber in home furnishing products and to generate student excitement about the global use of cotton for creating unique, artisan quality textiles for the environments of the future. I concluded the design process with an 100+ page book visually detailing the judging process, student design work and ITMA exhibition.As Project Manager, I developed the timeline from which the project would follow and delegated tasks to the appropriate assistant. In addition to planning the event space and coordinating all print orders, I acted as a liaison between all vendors.

As a one-person design department I process RAW imagery, retouch landscape and portrait photography, color correct imagery and execute image manipulation and restoration. Create unique designs for all business collateral, announcements, artbook layouts and photo products. I rebranded the company’s visual identity to give it a fresh look. Provided customer service, updated the website, placed and shipped orders. As assistant photographer I provided a second eye for weddings capturing all of the candid moments that happen during someone’s special day.
