In 2021 The US State Department and its Balkan Embassies funded Digital Den to elevate the Western Balkan startup ecosystem by bringing DigitalDen’s leading startups to U.S. innovation centers. This program is the first of its kind in Europe.Kathryn has been vital in establishing media, business, and funding opportunities in New York City. Working closely with Cronkite Global, Kathryn has secured funding for various projects throughout her tenure. Most recently (September 2023), Cronkite was awarded a highly competitive multi-year US State Department grant based on her development work. The Cronkite team will work with North Macedonia's oldest university to strengthen its journalism program.Based on Kathryn's efforts, Cronkite received a recurring grant in partnership with the Fulbright Foundation. Beyond securing funding, Kathryn created and executed leadership and entrepreneurship training for more than 300+ fellows from 35 nations. In partnership with PBS, Kathryn created a revenue-generating program that helped transitional journalists identify scalable solutions within their field. During tenure, doubled CNNj’s subscribers. Programming and Editorial Content: Utilized and developed CNN’s international editorial resources to create CNNj’s programming. On call 24/7, reacting to breaking news and setting editorial policy for the network. Supervised the creation of all on-air promotions and primetime line-ups. Marketing Strategy: As a senior member of CNN’s marketing team created many cross-platform marketing initiatives, including off-channel promotions for CNN's Election Coverage and Japan Now.Ad-sales: Created on-air material and promotions reels for ad-sales initiatives. Contributed to CNN’s upfront presentations. Coordinated with different sponsors (i.e., Citibank, Rolex) with regard to CNN sponsorship opportunities for the Asian markets.Legal and Budgetary Issues: Established trademark standards.
