Created, incorporated and developed Precision Contemporary Dance, Inc. a non- profit Corporation in the state of Florida. Responsibilities include the developing and overseeing all aspects of the corporation. Non-profit performing dance company dedicated to the education, development and promotion of the art of dance through classes, performances, and outreach programs. Wrote and won local government grant awards. PCD was awarded Outstanding 2005-2006 Small Business Partner of the Year by Brevard School Board.

Managed catastrophic medical cases for a reinsurance carrier. Coordinated transplant referrals; recommending cases for case management; assisted case managers in negotiations with out of network providers; and also was available as a resource for clients. Instrumental in over 1.3 million dollars in savings for 2010 cases and $478K in savings for 2011 cases. Responsible for determining cost projections, based on medical history, on potentially catastrophic cases for risk assessment on self-funded groups for reinsurance.

Director of Utilization Management & Quality Improvement for a start up HMO; responsible for the development, implementation and management of utilization, case management, disease management, and quality programs in which membership grew from 2500 members to 90,000 in a 2 ½ year time period. Negotiated and contracted physicians, surgery centers, diagnostic facilities and hospitals; designed an utilization/Case Management Computer program; hired and managed 30 employees; participated on Grievance Committee, Utilization Committee, Quality Improvement Committee, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Medical Advisory Board; was instrumental in obtaining 3 year AAAHC certification; assisted in Medicare Licensing audit by HCFA; developed Quality programs based on NCQA and HEDIS standards; and was responsible for providing a Homecare, DME and Infusion network.

Consulted as a Sub-Acute Program Manager and developed an Inpatient and Outpatient Wound Care Program in which Physical Therapy unit production increased by 13%. Created a sub-acute outcomes report to reflect patient progress in various sub-acute programs by utilizing the FIM scale and developed and implemented the Restorative CNA programs utilizing a team approach with therapists, and designed an all-encompassing restorative program. Created an outpatient brochure and implemented effectiveness of facility programs to referral sources by utilizing the “Success Story”. Created and developed efficient forms for restraint reduction, safety screen and nursing fall admission assessment; developed Quality Improvement policies and plan for the facility; and assisted the facility with state survey preparation.

Critical care nurse on Cardiac Surgery Unit. Moved into Case Management assisting in managing cardiac surgery, pulmonary and pediatric cases. Assisted on JACHO survey teams: Infection Control, Medical Records and Performance Improvement. Conducted a six-month study on open-heart patients to evaluate variances from clinical paths versus outcomes. Supported and assisted LBA Health Care Management Consultants with the Cardiovascular Enhancement Project.
