Kathy Meyer, a teacher, guidance counselor, and administrator in Ohio for more than 30 years, served as an administrator for the Worthington City Schools from 1985 to 2000 and supervised service-learning, career development, character education, vocational education, guidance, science, and after-school and summer school programs. At Partnerships for Authentic Learning and Leadership, we envision schools where learning is irresistible. We make this possible by helping schools and school districts create their shared vision and provide training and resources to make this vision a reality. Our work focuses on authentic instructional strategies, especially service-learning, an impactful form of project-based learning that helps connect the academic curriculum with local/global community involvement. As educators, we work to help young people develop a sense of passion and purpose for their own learning, and enhance students’ belief that they can positively impact their own lives and the lives of others.
