A place with a past and a compelling story, perhaps a 1,000-year-old Irish castle or a Midcentury Modern masterpiece or a beloved Green Book-listed inn? Well, it is my job to recommend hundreds of authentic historic hotels around the world where you can do just that. As Director, Marketing Strategy & Communications at the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Historic Hotels of America® and sister hotel program Historic Hotels Worldwide®, I lead planning and execution of projects to increase the visibility and voice of our member hotels. These are hotels listed in or eligible for the National Register of Historic Places, or meeting similar criteria (outside the U.S.). With nearly two decades of experience in public history and mass communications, I guide the Historic Hotels brands as their editorial chief to communicate the authenticity, value, and enduring or re-imagined purpose of hotels that are historic. Editors, travel writers, and journalists seek me out to access fantastic hotels with a past. I collaborate with government, non-profit, and for-profit strategic partners to promote cultural tourism in the United States and around the world.
