At DEKA, I am one of many striving to make a difference through thoughtful engineering, design, and manufacturing. With each innovation comes the need for a custom software application that prioritizes the performance, safety, and security of the device. As a Junior Software Engineer, I not only take part in the development of these applications, but also impact the design, review, and documentation processes, all while writing unit integration tests in accord with our continuous integration pipelines. Each week, I participate in Sprint planning with my team, where we adhere to our software development and architecture plans each step of the way. I have become particularly familiar with React, AWS, Git, and JavaScript, but always appreciate the opportunity to learn more from my team.

I contributed to software processing requests from 100,000,000 Samsung smart appliances while participating team scrums, following the Agile process, sharing my work, and learning from more experienced team members. One project I created was an algorithm translating behavioral rules by handling requests from an API, fetching a response, translating the JSON into a new format, and posting the updated rule back to the API. It also assisted in phasing out WebCore, a specialized rule handler supporting over 10,000 users, when I expanded my algorithm to handle rules from Webcore. While working, I created guides for future work on WebCore rules, assuring a continuation of my work.
