Our flagship bicycle advocacy campaigns led City Council to vote in support of protected bike lanes on a critical major street, and to a majority of councillors publicly endorsing a conceptual network of bicycle routes across the city. I trained staff and volunteers, organized petition signatures, and built relationships with elected officials, city staff, and a long list of local stakeholders.

I supported the development and implementation of a strategic marketing and engagement plan for the public launch of the Greenbelt Route: a 475 km bicycle tourism route across Ontario's Greenbelt. I produced promotional activities for the project and managed the development and design of a new website for cycle tourism in Ontario.I also organized events and public activations, including two years of title sponsor activities for an outdoor music festival attracting more than 5,000 attendees/year with internationally renowned artists.

In my founding role at this logistics company I was deeply involved with product innovation, business development, media relations, fleet operations, brand strategy, and human resources. I advised City of Vancouver staff in the piloting of a new class of electric delivery vehicle, and sold our business case to a wide range of business clients and community groups.Shift is a logistics company that uses a fleet of heavy-duty pedal-electric cargo trikes to replace delivery trucks in Vancouver’s busy downtown core. In our first year we tripled our business from start-up, replacing 5,000 km of truck travel and offsetting the equivalent of 2,000 kg of CO².

The Sustainable Opportunities for Youth Leadership (SOYL) internship trains Vancouver youth to be leaders in their schools and communities through hands-on service learning in their school gardens, and with partner organizations in our local food system.In my role I mentored youth and delivered food system curriculum, liaised with school administrators and staff around school garden design and construction, and secured sponsorships and in-kind donations.

Think&EatGreen@School has been working since 2010 to bring food literacy to children, and to support professional development in food literacy in schools across the Vancouver School District.In my role I helped to produce the project website, as well as summary reports of the student findings at each of the assessed schools. I also led second-year UBC students on walking tours at eight high schools, assessing existing school gardens, cafeteria kitchens, and dining halls. I liaised with high school teachers, administrators, support staff, and several entrepreneurial community partners, and I was responsible with the delivery and evaluation of 200 level course work.

During the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games I assisted in the development and implementation of fleet operations and oversaw the dispatch operations of a team of six radio controllers and a pool of 368 vehicles.

As one of two tour liaisons I guided a team of thirteen cyclists on a cycling performance tour of Atlantic Canada. I coordinated with host organizations, facilitated team-building and evaluation activities, and presented workshops and theatrical performances for thousands of school-aged kids in the communities en route.
