Pirate
Capt. Jack'S Pirate Ship Adventures
Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States
As a pirate, I was worked 2-3 75-minute cruises per shift, and my job was to perform and engage guests in a family friendly interactive show. I would also sell photos to guests halfway through the cruise. Apart from the performance aspect, I was responsible for keeping an eye on guests to ensure they did not break any safety rules, as maritime safety is very serious. I was also charged with either cleaning the ship for the next cruise or accompanying the guests on the bus back to the parking lot to ensure they enjoyed their experience and plug our business's social media. The ship would only run in Virginia Beach's tourist season, which was from May to September, hence why my employment ended so soon. In 2020, the ship was sold to a company in Tampa, FL and with COVID-19 the ship could not have operated anyway.
