I am a software engineer, with previous experience as an embedded systems engineer, and am thoroughly invested in gathering experience and depth of knowledge both professionally and personally. After graduating with a degree that prepared me to integrate hardware and software, my first job challenged my ability to wear many hats and adapt to new projects and teams quickly. The various roles that I was placed in provided me invaluable insight such as experience teamwork in several different settings, numerous management styles, as well as highlighting just how invaluable soft skills are in the workplace.At the height of the pandemic, I was laid off due to COVID-19’s impacts, which allowed me to redirect my career path to one with a skillset that allowed aspects such as the integration that I had found so interesting during school, the collaborative teamwork that I work best in, and introduced flexibility to choose whatever industry, application, or technology I could think of. Having completed an immersive and comprehensive online bootcamp, I proved my commitment to this career shift to myself and am currently solidifying my newly acquired skills through my new position at my current company, where I get to work on both front and back end development, as well as learn to work on team collaboration using Agile for the first time. Aside from software development, I am a huge advocate for consistent self-improvement, for myself and those around me, in all areas. My broad interests include fintech, watching all manner of sports, media consumption, and making lasting connections.
