Kirk Smith, a native of Baltimore, MD, has guest conducted throughout the country including appearances in California, Tennessee, Atlanta, Cleveland, Boston, Texas, Baltimore, Denver, Colorado, Montana, Wisconsin, Iowa, New York, Oregon, Montana, Nevada, Minnesota, Florida, Wyoming, Maine, Michigan, and Taipei (Taiwan). He has worked with violinists Robert McDuffie, Sanford Allen, Diane Monroe, and Ashley Horne; cellist Anthony Elliott; pianist Toni-Marie Montgomery and vocalists Simon Estes, William Brown,Thomas Young,Hilda Harris,Jane Olian, Rodrick Dixon, Reggie Smith, and Donnie Ray Albert;the Morehouse Glee Club, the percussion group NEXUS, the renowned actors, Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, and the legendary gospel singers, The Barrett Sisters. He has collaborated with highly regarded American composers such as Alvin Singleton, Libby Larson, Hale Smith, T.J. Anderson, Adrienne Albert, Olly Wilson, Wendell Logan,Thomas Albert,Tracey Rush, William Russo, and Linda Coleman, having conducted state, regional, and world premiers of their works.
